Yaaaouchhhh!!!! are you getting an eye sore and possibly a wedgie from just looking at these shoes, I don't blame you. These split-toe shoes ( also referred to as tabi shoes ) are actually a commonly woren footwear in Japan. These camel toe inspired shoes separate the big toe away from the rest of the toes on the foot and supposedly provide superior balance allowing the wearer to have a greater connection to the surface they walk on. Seriously. no one likes a break-up, let's stay together for fashion's sake (pleeeassssseee), all 5 toesies in a bunch, thanks. ( Partially sourced from: http://www.ninja-training-techniques.com )
