The tear jewellery plays on the idea of the taboo trend of facial piercings, specifically the anti-brow or teardrop piercing. Similarly, the bizarre jewellery pieces come in "a range features a number of adornments which hang on translucent wire away from the contact lenses... the users can then attach a range of accessories, such as crystals and flowers, to the new prescription or dummy lenses and wear them throughout the day". The Dutch designer Eric Klarenbeek proclaims "people who have worn my eye jewellery are amazed at its comfort, you can't feel the wire dangling, it doesn't affect your sight and the lens moves along gently with your eyeball". Mmm, I dunno but there’s just something nerve racking about hanging ishhh from my eyeballs, just imagine getting caught on something, GAHHH.*flinches*....please wear with extreme caution. Stemming from the oh-so popular emergence of the ear wraps, this body modification of "elf" ears goes to the extreme. It can be done through the aid of cosmetic manipulation that requires many cuts of folded skin & enhancing the ear cartilage. Similarly, it is surprising delicate procedure however it comes with irreversible results taking quite some time to heal; there's also the question of the possibly of leaving the ears prone to infections. An interesting quote by Hearst Seattle Media warrants that: " if you really want to look like you work at Santa’s workshop or live in Middle Earth, you can do it. After all, this is 2011. Though, I should remind you, this is the real world, not some fantasy land". Another interesting claim is by Dr. Lajos Nagy who claims that pointed ears aren’t just for cosmetic reasons but will also help your hearing. Moving with this further, some call it utterly disturbing, that it's utterly grotesque, goes beyond the framework of nerdy, others say its a childish act, but hey, there's no doubt that society has evolved and so has its’ fascination with fantasy worlds beyond our own advocated through the film industry and paper back media. Hmmm, I wonder if it’s will give you magic powers too…hey, don’t judge me, or it, or whatever you wanna call them..."OMG, did I just see them WIGGLE"...LOL[;ppp]!

DESIGNER PROFILE: MARCHESA -The ART of FASHION

Marchesa is an elegant avant-garde women's wear line named after 20th century socialite, heiress and muse: Marchesa Luisa Casati (1881-1957). The brilliant equipped visionaries for Marchesa label were none other than British born inspiring designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig who originally crossed paths at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. Equally, Georgina was a graduate of the Wimbledon School of Art & began her career as a costume designer, well Keren, on the other hand, graduated from Brighton Art College in 2000 and where she primarily focused on print and embroidery design. With the sophisticated workmanship of Georgina’s draping and design paired with Keren’s detailed textile creations, they decided to join forces in 2004 resulting in the establishment of Marchesa. As companion, their memorizing craftsmanship, immaculate ultra feminine illustrations have made them one of the most sawed after, go-to line for the celebrity elite for red carpet season. The Marchesa label has recently ventured into new territories expanding it's line by recently launching a handbag line, an elaborate collection of sovereign wedding dresses and even partnered with Lenox to launch a dinnerware collection. Yet, through all of their success, Chapman & Craig have been able to hold true to the Marchesa name by Luisa’s famous lifestyle quote, that is: “I want to be a living work of art” ; a mad & wild un-contemporary being with a bold and undying imagination. Wooohhhaaaa, I just had a dream about this last night & lookie what I stumbled on over here. Face distorting jewellery, an idea conceptualized by Turkish designer Burcu Büyükünal, are pieces designed to temporarily morph the skin with bizarre lifts, shifting skin & thus alternating the appearance of one's face. Though the side effects from wearing this jewellery over a prolonged period of time are currently unknown, the temporary usage sends a very clever & bold ideal playing on society lust with plastic surgery. Hey, good news for all dem hoping for a quick fix to their self-esteem "issues", a bashfully good looking face is 90% cheaper with less tug and pull??? SCORE, who doesn't like a bargain LOL[;ppp]!!!
